Today was the day; it was the day that she would find out what the gender of her baby was. It was exciting, but also nerve wracking. She was pacing the floor of her dorm as she was getting ready to go to her appointment, because.. well.. once she found out what the gender was, it was really real. She'd be picking out names, clothes, things for the nursery.. Because it would be real. She let out a breath and pushed some hair behind her ear, before grabbing her bag and walking out of the door. It was now or never, that's what she was telling herself.
Abrielle felt kind of bad, because she hadn't told Max when the appointment was, and because she didn't really want him there. She was still trying to keep him somewhat out of her life, and this was one way to keep him away from her. By not telling him when this appointment was. But he would get over it, right? Of course he would, he was Maxwell after all. She never promised to tell him when her doctor appointments were!
She walked towards the hospital, wringing her hands together as she walked because of how nervous she was. But finally, the building came into view. In all honesty, it wasn't far from the school at all. It was why she decided to walk. Plus, this pregnant girl thought that she needed to walk. She walked straight in and waved to the nurses at the desk, before walking towards the part of the hospital that she needed to go, and walking up to that desk, "Hi, I'm Abrielle Worthy. I have an appointment today," she said, smiling at the nurse, before signing in and sitting down in the waiting area. Now.. all she had to do was wait.

It was surprisenly not that difficult to find out what day his grasshoppers doctor appointment was. He figured there had to be one soon because he did research and it was gender finding time. He was not about to miss this, even if Abrielle got made at him! He would just be angry back because she didn't tell him and he had to resort back to hours old ways of deception. Even if it had only been less than a month since he decided to behave but time was irrelevant.
He called the hospital a few weeks ago and said he was the basis father and he didn't want to reask Abrielle and seem incompetent. So he was actually there early, so he can just sit there and see how long it took her to notice him there. Even she came in oblivious and walked right up to the nurse, well he smirked and snuck up behind her. "So, you were really going to let me miss this huh?"
He had his smirk on his face but his eyes actually held the hurt he felt at how she was treating him. He was trying and making effort at getting better but she was giving him nothing in return. Well she gave him a little but not where it counted. A party of him felt strung along. "You know your the only person who can hurt me the way you do?" He was speaking honestly because he had nothing to lose right now.

In her mind, excluding Max from this was the best way to go. For her, anyway. Because she just couldn't handle getting so close to him again. That night when she had actually felt the baby kick and she let Max come over to feel it.. She could just feel everything coming back, and she didn't want that. She knew that it was terrible; because he was the father of her child, and he needed to be in the baby's life.. but she wanted to be selfish right now and keep him away from her. That, however, just didn't seem possible at all. Even after she moved schools, he was here.. Even after she didn't tell him about an appointment, low and behold.. here he is. When she heard that all too familiar voice, she let out a low, irritated groan and closed her eyes for a second, before turning around to look at him. She rose her eyebrows up at him, before just walking over at sitting down.
Knowing that he would follow, she waited for him to sit down beside her before responding to him, "I never told you that I would tell you when my appointments were," was all she said. She said that she would give him a chance and slowly let him back into her life, because of the baby.. but she never said anything about before the baby was born. He, however, didn't care. He wanted to know everything now. And while, yes, not inviting him to find out the gender of their child would be considered mean, she just didn't care right now, "It's juat an appointment Max, it's not a big deal," she said, her voice low because she didn't want to start a fight in the middle of the waiting room.
