- sailing
- surfing
- snorkelling
- swimming
- the sea

dislikes:
- having his independence taken away for whatever reason
- people underestimating him (and they do. He's been doing odd jobs here and there but people are always surprised by the fact that he knows as much as he does. They assume he would be in college or making something of himself but he's not because he has no idea what he wants to do)
- sweets, candy, chocolate (he's not really into sugary stuff and prefers meat or healthy food)
- people who are stuck in their own little world and won't get out
- crowds and busy cities
- anything boring or stale
- his mother (or perhaps that the fact that she wants nothing to do with him)
- people who'll judge a book by its cover and judge him
- being stuck in one place
- closed-minded people
fears:
- never figuring out what he wants to do with his life
- his dad never being happy
secrets:
- he actually does love his father but hates that the man rarely ever smiles. He feels like he's failed some how by not being able to make the man happy or look as though he's proud of him. He says he is but he just always seems sad about everything.
- he is actually hurt by the fact that his mother doesn't seem to want anything to do with him. He just won't admit how much it hurts him.
personality: (at least two bad traits and three good, you can expand and go over)
- Lost: He seems well adjusted and normal but inside he's a little lost. He doesn't know what to do with his life and he doesn't know where he belongs. He's lived all over the world. He has a birth certificate from the Maldives, passports for both Sweden and America and an Australian driver's licence. He is utterly confused as to where he should be and has just no idea what to do with his life. He is about as lost as lost can be.
- spontaneous: he is just like his dad. He could do anything with his life but he isn't sure what it's going to be yet. he likes going crazy and just doing something for the sake of it. It comes from not wanting to be stuck in any particular situation.
- intelligent: he loved learning about new things and picks things up incredibly quickly. He is also a little intuitive and trusts his gut instincts. He reads body language and facial expressions, it was how he got by in new places before learning the language. He picks it up easily and is incredibly culturally aware.
- independent: he loves his independence. He's always had the freedom to run around and do what he wants, ever since he was a kid, he was treated more like an adult and allowed to make his own decisions.
- mysterious: he's fun and cool and doesn't push people. He just does his thing and takes his time.
relationships:
- father: Hans Lindbeck, a world renowned marine biologist who has done great things for out planet.
- mother: Susan Asher, journalist. She refuses to acknowledge him and denies having any relation to him. In her opinion, his birth was just a favour to his father. She has other children but he doesn't know them all that well. She treats him like a stranger who's there to ruin her life. Her name is on his birth certificate and anyone who tries to look into it will find out but still she refuses to admit it to anyone else but still helped him get his America passport (he now has dual citizenship)
facts:
- Dr. Hans Lindbeck moved up the ladder fairly quickly. He is a well known and world renowned marine biologist who's work is held in high esteem and still used today as a basis for other research and conservation programs around the world. Everyone in the community knows the name but not very much is known about the man. Hans is quiet and keeps to himself. He enjoys his privacy and rarely shows his face at public events. He now runs several centres and is a big name in the field but behind all of that, he is a lonely man.
Susan Asher is a journalist. She is high spirited and utterly in love with her career. No one is more important than the name she wants to make for herself. She first met Dr. Lindbeck in .. It was a whirlwind romance. The woman was dominant and pushy and the man was mysterious and enigmatic. Those qualities appealed to each other but it didn't last. Susan was engaged and kept this from Hans. It was suppose to be a one night stand but a month later, Susan was still there and found out she was pregnant. She was convinced that she should terminate but Hans convinced her not to (more accurately, begged her not to). She extended her stay, telling her faithful finance nothing about what had happened. She felt trapped there, hating every second of this pseudo-commitment to a man she wanted nothing more than a physical relationship with. She grew cold and was cruel toward Hans who would quietly take it and never complain. She had the child and left as soon as she could be discharged, with not even a simple goodbye. Hans struggled to try and raise a child but he had help in the close friends on that small island. He later moved around to various places with his son to continue his work.
- A quick run down of where he's live:
Birth - 3: the Maldives 3 - 6: Galapagos Islands, Ecuador 6 - 10: Brothers Islands, Red Sea, Egypt 10 - 13: Utila Island, Honduras 13 - 15: Beqa, Fiji 15 - 17: Belize 17 - 20: Sydney Australia, he came in time to finish the last bit of high school (having been to international schools and having tutors in all the places he's been to) and later started at a university in Sydney (studying linguistics which he was close to finishing but has about a year left to complete) but decided to defer and take a break because he couldn't figure out what he wanted to do with his life. Something was always missing. He travelled around the state (NSW) for a bit before deciding he wanted to go find his mother in America. His father advised against it but he had always been good with money and had more than enough saved up and left anyway. 20 - Current: He moved to America, he managed to find his mother who insisted on telling her family that he was just the son of an old friend. She has her own life now and doesn't seem to want anything to do with him. This messed him up for a while but he said nothing. He stayed with her and half-siblings who didn't even know who he was. It hurt but he got over it, figured out what he wanted to do and moved on. He couldn't stand being there and being treated like a stranger when these were his family. He moved around a bit and eventually ended up in Georgia but it's always just temporary.
- Moving around a lot means that he's picked up a few languages along the way. He is fluent in English, Sweddish, Spanish, Modern Standard Arabic. He understands Fijian. His pronunciation isn't perfect but he is still easily understood by native speakers.
- One thing he does know is that he doesn't want to be a marine biologist, despite how much he knows abut the topic, how much he loves marine animals and how good he would be at it. He can't figure out why but on a subconscious level, it's not the field he has a problem with. It's how lonely and withdrawn his father seems to be, he doesn't want that life for himself but his mind just hasn't made the connection yet.
- He still has no idea at all what he's doing with his life. There are so many options and possibilities that it's all overwhelming sometimes.
- He loves the outdoors and being outside. He can't spend too long in a big city, it drives him crazy with too much going on. He prefers small towns to cities.
- He is a qualified surfing and snorkling instructor. He can also teach swimming. He's always lived around the water. He had been up close with a variety of sea creatures and done a lot of work with his dad in an unofficial capacity.
